My 2024 Feast Grant Proposal

Years ago, my friend struggled financially, and she had to visit the local food pantry for her family. When she got home, she would go through the box and complain about the ingredients. “More canned beans, stupid cranberry sauce… on and on’.  

I thought she was talented in the kitchen because she baked bread and cookies, selling them at events to make ends meet. It wasn’t until a few years ago that she confided that she did not know how to cook, and I was floored.  

The idea for 'We All Eat' was born. I was not thrilled with the name but I needed a title for the grant application. 

Several new titles simmered in my mind  I have officially changed the project name to 'Adventures and Recipes'.

I love to discover the unusual history or roots of foods and recipes. The title fits.

Like so many people in the modern world, I used to have a food card and use the food pantry. I was thankful and really learned how to stretch every dollar, be creative with leftovers.  I loved to buy weird foods at super-discounted prices, and create something delicious.
